2023 Summer Camp Registration:
The App State Innovate for Good initiative aims to increase diverse students’ awareness about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education and career paths through a series of hands-on programs. Specifically, the 2023 program aims to engage girls & boys in rising grades 5th to 9th in fun projects that utilize emerging technologies to address social problems. Some of the technologies that students will engage in are MIT’s App Inventor, MIT’s Scratch, Internet of Things (IoT), Lego Robotics/Sphero, and 3-D Design/printing, and Data Analytics/Visualization.
The weeklong camp will be held at Appalachian State University from Monday, July 17th - Friday, July 21st, 2023. Campers may check-in weekly between 8:00 and 8:45 am in the Walker College of Business lobby area. Pick up time for day campers will be between 4:15 and 5:00 pm each day.
Program will be limited to 28 students in all.
Registration must be completed by a parent/guardian. If more than one student from a single family is interested in participating, separate registration for each student must be completed. Transportation to and from ASU campus is the responsibility of the parent/ guardian.
The cost of the day-program is $350 per camper (including early bird registration until April 1st). After April 1st, the cost of camp increases to $400. *Subsidized cost includes program, lunch, materials; t-shirt and registration fee. Final Payment for registration is due on or before June 30th.

There will be several savvy skills sessions to the programming including Innovation/Entrepreneurship, being financially savvy, computer and internet safety, and digital story telling. Students who did the camp can repeat as they can select a different project and benefit from new activities.

Cancellation policy states no later than 5:00PM on Friday, June 9th, 2023. No refunds will be issued after this date.
