CAN'T SEEM TO CATCH ON?
WANT A STRONG START IN MATH NEXT YEAR?
THEN MATH CAMP IS FOR YOU!
What is Math Camp?
Math Camp is a social happening for all rising 6th- 12th graders! Similar to a sports camp, we have teams and each team has an ASU student as a coach. We have hands-on activities, graphing calculators, computers, competitions, group interaction, prizes, snacks, fire-side chats (without the fire) and magic tricks that introduce algebra word problems. Also, real world problems will answer the question, "What is math good for?"
Where is it?
Located on the 3rd floor of Walker Hall on the campus of Appalachian State University on the corner of Rivers Street and Bodenheimer Drive.
What time is it?
This is an evening program, that meets from 6-9pm each evening. On the first evening, parents and participants should arrive between 4:30 and 5:30 pm to register, and all stay for a meeting to answer questions and discuss procedures. Students check in by 6:00 pm on the remaining nights, and check out at 9:00 pm promptly all four nights. For any student not checked in by 6:05, a follow-up call will be made to parents.
What is the cost?
The cost of the camp is $120 per student. This fee covers instruction for 12 hours over four evenings, limited accident illness insurance, certificates, awards, trophies, and snacks. Act now. Space is limited to 120 campers.
Did you say snacks?
Yes! ... each evening snacks are provided by our friends at Domino's! Subway! Mellow Mushroom! and Harris Teeter!
I want to go to this camp, but I don't live in Boone!

There is also a special rate of $49 at the Super 8, and a 10% discount at the KOA. There are numerous other campgrounds, motels, and cabins located in our vacation destination of Boone - just check at the High Country Host! A day of swimming or hiking or gem mining, and a few hours each evening at Math Camp might be the perfect vacation plan for your family.
So mark your calendars ... and complete your registration, and we'll see you on Monday, July 8th!
